It would seem that IT workers are still coming to Britain, despite all the signs of a mass exodus.
In a response to a parlimentary question, Home Office Minister Angela Eagle has revealed that approved work permits were higher than last years figures, and that 25% of the applications passed were for the IT industry.
Although there has been a marked increase in numbers, Eagle did however still admit that shortages did exist in the IT sector.
This, the government feels, is proof that IT contractors are in fact still coming to the U.K, and they still do not accept other contracting groups theories of a exodus of trained people.
