Primarolo answers questions.

The Paymaster General, Dawn Primarolo, has again had to answer questions about IR35.

Firstly she was asked what advice is being offered by the Revenues inspectors to businesses that might be caught by IR35, to which she replied that IR35 does not affect genuine businesses only ones that if a service company did not exist, would in effect be full time permanent employees of the company. The advice she said was available for free on the Revenues website.

Primarolo was also asked what efforts had been made to liase with the P.C.G, and discuss IR35, to this she said that no efforts had been made and that some Revenue officials had met with the P.C.G executive to discuss practical issues that had arisen out of the implementation of IR35, but no formal discussions over IR35 had taken place.
